three pieces tonight.
the questiontime witch
meme: female-to-male
the first was created using faber-castell pitt ink pens, gallery watercolors, academie heavy sketch paper, and blood.
the second was created with all of the above-mentioned media, save the very last.
the third was drawn with a regular black ink pen first, then scanned and CG colored. i am very fond of it, and the actual meme is in the works. i am in the process of coloring it now, and it should hopefully be done within the next few weeks.
the altered book has had some art added to it- mostly using the ink pens and crayons. i've added a variety of surfaces to some of the pages, so i hope that i'll find suitable ways to use them. i am pleased with how it is turning out so far.
will have a critique next wednesday; i am unsure about which pieces i should present to the college representatives. i am considering a few of the graphite portraits, though i've no doubt that a few watercolors (with proper paper this time around) will find their way inside my portfolio. it will last for about a hour, and i fully intend to make the most of the time allotted.
overall, i suppose i am comfortable in terms of drawing at the moment. most of my ideas so far do require watercolors, so i will have to find some way to sneak in a few extra paintings alongside the fabric studies we are painting in class. in all honesty, i am mixed about fabric studies. i enjoy the painting part- i just can't stand sketching.
i never really took myself as a painter, to be honest. i've always worked with pencils and inks. as i've become older, however, i am beginning to realize how fitting watercolors really are. they are flexible, fun to work with- perhaps i should skulk around the watercolor section of a.c. moore for a few hours before i'm kicked out.
well, i can dream.
